Alleppey
Backwater scenery. Slow living. Quiet productivity.
Overview
Alleppey — Alappuzha to locals — is a network of palm-shaded canals, paddy fields below sea level, and quiet villages where the only commute is by canoe. It is the slowest of our three destinations, and the most restorative.
Why work from here
Alleppey is for the deep-work week. Founders writing the next version of the deck, writers on a deadline, anyone who needs water and silence to think clearly.
Backwater Villas
Standalone lakeside homes with verandahs over the water and dedicated desks.
Houseboat Experiences
Charter a traditional kettuvallam for a long weekend — wifi included.
Nature Retreats
Birdwatching, paddle-boarding, paddy-field walks at dawn.
Slow Living
Markets by canoe, evenings without screens, a different relationship to time.
Quiet Productivity
Lower density, fewer distractions — perfect for shipping cycles.

Questions
Good to know.
Is it too remote for a serious work week?+
No. Stays are 20 minutes from the train station and run on stable fibre. The remoteness is the point — fewer distractions, more output.
Can I do an overnight houseboat without losing a work day?+
Yes. We arrange Friday-evening departures with a fixed return Saturday morning so your week stays intact.
What about mosquitoes?+
All partner stays are screened and provide repellent. Evenings on the verandah are comfortable November through March.
Is there a community here?+
Smaller and quieter than Varkala or Kochi — best for travelers who want focus. Weekly community dinners bring guests together.
